🚌 Our team is hard at work today! As part of our countywide cleaning efforts, our bus drivers are taking extra time to thoroughly clean and disinfect our school buses. We are incredibly thankful for our transportation staff and everyone across Wyoming County Schools who is stepping up and doing their part to help provide a clean and safe environment for our students and staff. IMPORTANT UPDATE — WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS Due to new information received regarding the current skin-related health concern, Wyoming County Schools will be taking additional precautionary measures. ALL WYOMING COUNTY SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW, OCTOBER 6. This countywide closure will allow for a thorough deep cleaning of our school facilities as an added precaution to protect the health and well-being of our students and staff. WYOMING EAST & WESTSIDE: Wyoming East High School and Westside High School will remain closed beyond tomorrow until further guidance is received from the Wyoming County Health Department and all necessary cleaning by ServPro has been completed. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: There will be no extracurricular activities anywhere in Wyoming County Schools today, October 5, or tomorrow, October 6. This includes practices, games, and other school-related extracurricular events. The situation will be reevaluated following tomorrow, and additional guidance will be provided regarding when activities may resume. For Wyoming East High School and Westside High School, all extracurricular activities will remain suspended until further notice. HEALTH INFORMATION: At this time, Wyoming County Schools has not received an official diagnosis identifying the specific type of skin infection involved. We understand there may be speculation within the community, but we want to be careful to share only information that has been confirmed by the appropriate health officials. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We understand that these closures and cancellations create an inconvenience for our families, and we sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we take these additional precautions. We will continue working closely with the Wyoming County Health Department and ServPro and will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available. It’s Homecoming Week! Wyoming East and its feeder schools will release three hours early on Thursday, October 1, so our students, staff, and families can join in the WEHS Homecoming Parade festivities! We look forward to coming together and celebrating our Warriors! Go Warriors!

Wednesday, September 16, 2026 Wyoming East High School Herndon Elementary and Middle School Bus 188, Tonya will not be running this evening. Bus 187, and Bus 241 will be bringing those students home. Covel and Garwood students may be home a few mins early. Basin students may be up to 20 minutes late.

Attention Energy Express and AIM students: There will be an early dismissal today at 11 AM for summer school aim and energy express students. There will be no Aim or energy express tomorrow, Friday, July 3, 2026. Have a great holiday weekend!

Friday, May 8, 2026 Herndon Elementary and Middle School. Bus 245, Steven will not be running this morning. Bus 245 will make the afternoon run.

Friday, May 1, 2026 Wyoming East High School Herndon Elementary and Middle School Bus 182, Tonya will not be running morning or afternoon runs.

📢 Calendar Update for Wyoming County Schools While the West Virginia Department of Education approved our waiver request for four snow days, we did have one additional snow day after the waiver was approved (March 17, 2026). As a result, one day has been added to the end of our school calendar. 📅 Last day for students: June 3 📅 Last day for teachers: June 8 Thank you for your flexibility as we wrap up the school year!

Wyoming County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

🎉 Great News for Wyoming County Schools!
The West Virginia Department of Education has approved our waiver request, meaning we will NOT have to make up four snow days this school year. 📅 The last day of school will remain June 2. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for your flexibility during this winter’s weather. We’re looking forward to a strong finish to the school year!
